Subject: RE: Monster Challenge info
Dear John: On
behalf of Ducati North America, I'd like to thank you for your interest in
entering your bike in the upcoming Monster Challenge to be held at the Cobb
Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Your enthusiastic support for this unique event
is very much appreciated by all of us at Ducati. I'd
like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, as I will be your
main liaison for The Challenge. My name is Gary Eagan, and I'll be available
to you all weekend to ensure your experience at the event is a pleasant one.
I will be at the Monster Challenge booth from the show's opening Friday afternoon,
Jan. 7 through its close on Sunday, Jan 9 at 6 p.m.. To
help you plan your weekend, there are a number of items you will need to be
aware of. Here is the vital information: 1.
The show officialy opens at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan 7, however we will need to
have your Monster at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Two Galleria Parkway, before
1 p.m. on Friday, or a bit earlier if possible. No motorcycles will be allowed
into the Galleria Centre after 1 p.m. Ducati will not be able to provide any
transportation for you after you drop your bike off, so please be aware that
arranging trasportation for the remainder of the weekend will be your responsibility.
When you arrive at the Centre, call me on my cell phone and I will meet you
and clear the way for your entry. My cell number is: 801-792-2328. 2.
Before your Monster will be allowed to be displayed, it must have the battery
disconnected and have no more than approximately one gallon of fuel in the
tank. So please bring adequate tools to enable you to disconnect your battery.
These requirements will be enforced by Galleria Centre officials and Fire
Marshalls at the show, and they have emphatically indicated they will allow
no exceptions. 3. Please deliver
your bike as clean and polished as possible. We will have some cleaning solutions
and rags at the show site, but it would be much easier for all concerned if
your bike was show ready when delivered. It will be appreciated if you can
bring either a front or rear bike stand to make your bike more stable and
display better. 4. Your pass for
the event will be waiting in "will call" at the Exhibitor's Pass
Desk in a file under "Ducati Monster Challenge" and your name. If
any problem arises, ask for either myself or Danny Carson. 5.
Friday evening at 9 p.m., Ducati will host a dinner at Carrabbas Grill, 2999
Cumberland Blvd., SE, Carrabbas is within easy walking distance of the Galleria
Centre. You and one person of your choice will be guests of Ducati North America.
I will be at the restaurant at approximately 8:45 p.m. and will look forward
to greeting you and your guest at the restaurant. As mentioned, dinner for
you and your guest will be on DNA, however if you wish to consume alcoholic
beverages, they will not be provided by Ducati. A cash bar will be made available
at the location. Tell them you are with Ducati when you arrive, and they will
show you to the room we have arranged. The restaurant's phone number is 770-437-1444. 6.
VERY IMPORTANT: Rules set by Show Officials will make it impossible for you
to remove your Monster from the site before the event's end Sunday at 6 p.m.,
and all bikes must be removed from the Center before 7:00 p.m. They will make
no exceptions to their rules under any circumstance, and we will be powerless
to intervene. So make certain you plan accordingly. This rule is applied event
wide, and is written in stone! 7.
Bike judging will be conducted early Sunday afternoon, and the winners will
be announced at approximately 2:30-3:00 p.m. A "People"s Choice"
winner will be determined by ballots cast by attendees during the show. A
panel of judges will determine the Overall Winner, as well as Second and Third
place finishers. The Judges will also choose one Monster from the entrants
as a "wild card" designation, and that bike has a chance to become
one of four "wild card" machines we will take to Daytona for the
final judging during Bike Week in early March. "Wild Card" candidates
will be named at all 8 Monster Challenge venues, with four ultimately being
chosen. 8. The winner and his/her
Monster will be taken to Daytona for the Ducati gala to be held in conjunction
with the Daytona 200 and Bike Week in March, 2005. If your bike is chosen
as the Overal Judge's Winner, Ducati will fly you to Daytona to join the winners
of the other regional competitions. During the Ducati party at Daytona, the
overall winner of The Challenge will be named and receive a 2005 Ducati Monster
S 4R. We will arrange return of the bike you entered in the Monster Challenge
after the Daytona festivities. If you are the winner of the Atlanta Monster
Challenge, we will contact you during the first week of February, 2005, to
make arrangements for picking up the bike and your travel schedule. Bikes
will be returned to their owners by March 25, so finalists will be without
their motorcycle for approximately 5-6 weeks. Should
you have any questions about the above information or the Monster Challenge
in general, please contact me directly. My contact info is: GARY
EAGAN hobatz@xmission.com 801-792-2328 Cell phone I
will be leaving my home in Salt Lake City on Wednesday morning, Jan. 5 and
be in the host city that evening. I can be reached via cell phone anytime
after about 8 p.m. Wednesday. Again,
we greatly appreciate your participation in the Monster Challenge and enthusiasm
for Ducati motorcycles. We look forward to meeting you at the event and helping
us make the Monster Challenge a huge success. We couldn't do it without you!
